CIF Grant Reviewer Information

Community Impact Funding (CIF) Volunteers

United Way of Addison County (UWAC) seeks volunteers to serve on a committee that reviews applications for grant funding. Responsibilities include reviewing applications from local non-profits, performing site visits and making funding recommendations to the UWAC Board of Directors.

The Community Impact Funding grant process is designed to carry out the spirit of UWAC’s mission by employing an equitable means for distributing funds raised through UWAC’s annual campaign.   In our past three years of this grants process, reviewers helped United Way of Addison County invest $991,605 in 33 programs covering 28 different agencies across the region.

Grant process revolves between three themes:  Health, Education and Financial Stability.  In 2019 the focus is on Education.  UWAC funds non-profits that offer educational opportunities for people of all ages, including high-quality daycare, promoting reading among young children, preparing youth for independence and offering training and advancement opportunities for adults.
