The Addison County Substance Use and Prevention Coalition (ACSUPC), comprising over 35 dedicated community partner organizations, has a common mission: to improve the health of all individuals in Addison County by increasing protective factors, decreasing risk factors, and engaging partners across all sectors.
The ACSUPC demonstrates how collaboration can bring meaningful change. By bringing together a diverse array of stakeholders—including health and human service professionals, educators, law enforcement, school administrators and educators, and community leaders—the coalition addresses substance use challenges through evidence-informed prevention, treatment, recovery, harm reduction, and public health strategies.
Initiatives are designed to educate young individuals about the risks associated with substance use, while also equipping families with the tools and resources necessary to support healthy decision-making. There are also regular discussions around use trends and ways to support community partners in treatment and recovery efforts for both youth and adult populations.
The ACSUPC's efforts are informed by comprehensive data collection and analysis. Surveys targeting both youth and adults provide valuable insights into community needs, enabling the coalition to tailor its initiatives effectively.
Community involvement is at the heart of the ACSUPC's success. To learn more about the coalition's initiatives or to get involved, visit the ACSUPC webpage.
