United Way of Addison County (UWAC) is pleased to announce two staff promotions: Amy Hoekstra to Community Impact Manager and Celia Heath to Community Initiatives and Grants Manager.
Amy Hoekstra, originally from Arizona, lives in Middlebury and has been at UWAC since June 2021 as the organization's Volunteer and Donor Engagement Coordinator. In her new role, Amy will manage the Community Impact Funding process, engaging and supporting volunteers, assisting with fundraising activities, and helping plan and execute events.
“Amy is an incredibly warm and welcoming human being, and she has built great relationships with partners, donors, volunteers, and more. Her good work reflects how much she truly believes in UWAC’s mission,” said Erin Reed, Development and Marketing Director. “I am grateful for Amy’s innovative thinking; she will be great as our Community Impact Manager!”
Celia Heath, a native of Starksboro, began at UWAC in September 2021 as Public Health and Advocacy Coordinator, with her role later evolving to Public Health Grants Manager. As UWAC’s Community Initiatives and Grants Manager, Celia will take on more responsibility in managing and implementing UWAC’s grants portfolio, supporting collaborative community initiatives, and using data to inform and evaluate progress.
“Celia is an excellent grant writer, and her strong communication skills have been significant in UWAC’s ability to secure funding,” said UWAC’s Executive Director, Helena Van Voorst. “Celia takes a very thoughtful approach to her work, always with the best interests of Addison County in mind. She is very deserving of this promotion, and I look forward to watching her grow in this new role!”
Congratulations to both Amy and Celia!
